TERRAN'S MEDIA CLEANER PRO BEING OPTIMIZED FOR APPLE'S NEW POWERMAC G4

New Version of Media Cleaner Pro Provides Developers Faster Compression of
Content for Web, CD-ROM and DVD Applications

Los Gatos, CA (August 31, 1999) Terran Interactive, a subsidiary of Media
100 (NASDAQ: MDEA), announced today that Media Cleaner Pro, the company's
award-winning audio and video compression application will be optimized for
Apple's new PowerMac G4. Preliminary tests of Media Cleaner Pro with the
Sorenson Video Codec on PowerMac G4 are showing up to twice the performance
of current PowerPC and Pentium systems.

"Measuring the performance of computers by megahertz alone is like
measuring the performance of cars in RPM's," said Darren Giles, technical
director, Terran Interactive. "The ability of a PowerMac G4 machine to beat
a 600 MHz Pentium III by a factor of two-to-one demonstrates this
situation. With this new technology, a PowerMac G4 is effectively the first
GigaHertz Macintosh available."

"The new PowerMac G4 brings supercomputer speeds to personal computing,"
said Phil Schiller, Apple's vice president of worldwide product marketing.
"Media Cleaner Pro's early optimization for the new system means design and
publishing professionals will be able to work with multimedia graphics at
speeds never before seen."

Pricing and Availability
The currently shipping version of Media Cleaner Pro, 4.0, runs correctly on
the new systems. However, to take full advantage of the new architecture,
Terran will be releasing an update that is specifically optimized for the
PowerMac G4. The update is anticipated to ship in October and will be free
to all Media Cleaner Pro 4.0 users. Owners of previous versions can upgrade
for $159 directly from Terran via the Web or by calling (800) 577-3443.
Media Cleaner Pro is available directly through Terran Interactive for an
MSRP of $499.

About Media Cleaner Pro
Media Cleaner Pro is recognized as the industry standard application for
optimization and compression of dynamic media. Version 4.0 is the only
media optimization tool that handles all the major formats, including Apple
Computer's QuickTime 4, MP3, MPEG, AVI and others. Media Cleaner Pro's
multi-standard and cross-platform support drives the digital content
creation market forward by providing developers the flexibility to create
the highest quality media in any format required. Using Media Cleaner,
developers can use one tool to easily prepare professional-quality media
for delivery on the Web, broadband networks, CD-ROM, kiosks, presentations,
and DVD.
