VIRTUAL PRIVATE NETWORK (VPN) SOLUTIONS

server performance, today announced its new OEM line of cryptographic
USB tokens for Virtual Private Networks (VPN). The new USB-based
cryptographic token, i-Key, provides end user client authentication
to VPNs and enables operator access to secured network equipment such
as routers, switches or firewalls.
Rainbow's i-Key is IPSec IKE compatible and provides a low cost
alternative to smart cards for authenticated access to VPNs, secured
network equipment, hardware, and the Internet.
The token is inserted into the USB port of a computer, eliminating
the need to have a separate, expensive reader attached or integrated
into the system. The solution is ideal for VPN software vendors and
network equipment manufacturers who are concerned about controlling
access to their hardware or software products. It is perfectly suited
for companies searching for a low cost hardware based authentication
token to supplement or even replace existing password-based schemes.
