SPI Announces Release Of WorldDoc

Create Web Pages without HTML Editing

San Diego, CA - July 26, 1996 - Software Products International, Inc. today
announced the release of WorldDoc (TM), its eagerly-awaited Web page layout
program. WorldDoc makes it possible for anyone to create and publish documents
on the Web using its unique point-and-click interface without having to learn
the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML).

WorldDoc is unique among Web page authoring tools because it gives users a What
You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) view of their pages, presenting them as they
will actually appear on the Web. A previous generation of tools-so-called HTML
editors-generate HTML code in a text window without showing the resulting page.
Users of these products are forced into a frustrating cycle where they must
create HTML code in the editor, launch a browser to view the page, and then
return to the editor to make changes.

Since WorldDoc allows them to make pages in the same way they would when using
a paper page layout program, authors can build complete Web sites without the
need to switch between programs and without learning HTML programming.

Rather than working with cumbersome HTML code, users simply drag and drop
elements on screen to change the layout of a document quickly. An image or
text can be selected and moved within a document or to a new document. Text
and images can be increased and decreased in size with a single click, and
users can change the color of text and the text font face, as well as add
numbered and unnumbered bullets to for organization. When the page is
complete, clicking one button uploads the document to any HTTP server.

"The Internet is the ultimate client/server network and HTML is the universal
file format we've all been looking for" said Larry Luke, Vice President of
Sales and Marketing. "Web browsers are the universal clients that provide
access to data on any platform, anywhere, at any time. What's been missing is
an easy way to create Web documents. WorldDoc lets anyone publish on the
Internet-the same way PageMaker put desktop publishing within reach of
everybody."

WorldDoc is the first in a series of tools for the Internet/intranet from
Software Products International. WorldDoc is an object-based authoring
environment for the Internet/intranet that will in the future include support
for database connectivity and rapid application development.

WorldDoc can be purchased directly from the SPI WWW site at the introductory
price of $49.
