11th Annual SF MacWorld Netter's Dinner
(http://www.infoworkshop.com/~jonpugh/nettersdinner.html)
Yes, it's been 11 years that we've been gathering a herd of nerds and
feeding ourselves at the Hunan in San Francisco (on Sansome at Broadway).
This year is just another notch in our belts.
MacWorld is Tue, Jan 7, 1997 through Fri, Jan 10, 1997. The dinner will
be on Wed, Jan 8, 1997.
The cost is only $16 per person. Dinner will consist of a buffet, which we
will request to be extra hot, because they tone it down for buffets and we
don't want that. It will come with Onion Cakes, Hunan Chicken Salad, Sweet
& Sour Pork, Beef with Broccoli, Fried Chicken Wings, Kung Pao Chicken,
Country Style Vegetables, Pork Chow-Mein and Combination Fried Rice. There
are no substitutions.
Due to the phenomenal success of last year, we've contracted with Kee
Nethery's shareware service again. All you have to do is go to the web
page listed above and either download the Register program, run it and
email the results to Kagi, or sign up on the Kagi web page below. Either
will allow you to enter the number of seats you wish to purchase and then
send your credit card number to Kagi and your RSVP to me. This way you
just have to show up to schmooze and eat.

You can register via credit card up to the day before MacWorld, which is
the 6th of January. You can register by fax up to a week before MacWorld,
which is January 4th. You can register via snail mail up to 2 weeks before
the event, which is December 28th.
We'll be meeting at the top of the escalators on the south side of Moscone
Center (across Howard street from Chevy's) after the show, which closes at
6:00. We'll do our traditional pilgrimage across SF at 6:30. It takes
about 20-30 minutes to walk, but it's worth it since we have an
impressively large crowd and you get to walk off dinner on the way back.
Of course, you can take a cab or drive if you like. Sansome and Broadway
is pretty easy for anyone to find. Just don't try and take the Embarcadero
freeway to Broadway. It fell down in the Quake of 89 and was demolished
thereafter.
We will have speaking facilities, but because of everyone's shyness, we'll
simply be doing the traditional show of hands for domains, countries,
etc. Any suggestions into interesting tidbits to test for should be
mailed to me.
