MEDIA CLEANER PRO 4.0 NOW SHIPPING
- Macintosh and Windows Versions Now Available -

New York, New York, June 30, 1999 - Streaming Media East - Booth #171
- Terran Interactive, a subsidiary of Media 100 Inc. (NASDAQ: MDEA)
and leading producer of desktop media compression tools, today
announced the availability of Media Cleaner Pro 4.0 for both
Macintosh and Windows. Media Cleaner Pro 4.0 is the only tool that
handles all the major formats, including Apple Computer's QuickTime*
4, RealNetwork's RealG2*, Microsoft's Windows Media Technologies*,
MP3, MPEG, AVI and others. Media Cleaner Pro's multi-standard and
cross-platform support drives the digital content creation market
forward by providing developers the flexibility to create the highest
quality media in any format required. For the first time, developers
using both Macintosh and Windows can use one tool to easily prepare
professional-quality media for delivery on the Web, broadband,
CD-ROM, kiosks, presentations, and DVD.

Doug Werner, webmaster at Apple Computer, said, "Media Cleaner Pro is
an essential tool for video compression. Media Cleaner Pro was used
exclusively in the compression of the Star Wars trailer 'The Phantom
Menace', allowing me to get the highest quality results possible.
Using Media Cleaner Pro I was able to quickly prepare multiple
versions for the Lucasfilm team to review. I love it and couldn't do
my job without it."

Mat Brown, chief engineer at encoding.com, said, "Media Cleaner Pro
is essential for getting professional quality audio and video files
on the Internet. With support for QuickTime, RealG2, Windows Media
and MP3, this tool allows us to quickly optimize large amounts of
video content for compression, and adds value for our customers like
Sony, Apple and Warner Brothers."

What's New in Media Cleaner Pro 4.0:
- Cross Platform Support -- Version 4.0 runs on both Mac OS and
Windows 95/98/NT. For the first time, all of the major multimedia and
streaming formats can be produced on either platform.

- More formats - Version 4.0 is the only tool to provide support for
all of the major formats, including QuickTime, Real G2, Windows Media
(ASF), AVI, MPEG-1, DV, MP3, and still image and audio formats.
Additional support for MPEG-2 is available through optional upgrades.

- Enhanced QuickTime support -automated production of QuickTime 4
streaming movies, enhanced movie alternates, automated poster frames,
variable display resolutions, and tight integration with the latest
codecs continue to broaden Cleaner's lead as the most powerful
QuickTime compression tool.

- RealG2 Support - With features such as Intellicine* (3:2 pulldown
removal), batch processing, color correction and more, Media Cleaner
Pro 4.0 is the only professional application available for both Mac
OS and Windows to produce high quality RealG2 files.

losslessly convert between certain formats without recompression. For
example, QuickTime movies can be converted to AVI without loss of
quality.

- Professional Quality Audio Support - Version 4.0 includes support
for version one and two of the QDesign Music codec, Fraunhofer MP3,
higher quality resampling than Media Cleaner Pro 3, and a range of
new audio filters including Adaptive Noise Removal, Dynamic Range
Compression, Noise Gate, Highpass/Lowpass, Notch and more.
