MACTECH MAGAZINE ANNOUNCES "MAC IS BACK" CELEBRATION OFFER

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. -- October 1, 1998 -- From computer users to the main stream media, people love their Macs. Even a recent TIME magazine poll shows that 94% of people feel that the Mac is a better computer than the PC. Recently, Apple announced that since the debut of iMac this past May, over 1000 new products and applications have been created for Macintosh. To celebrate this incredible resurgence of Macintosh, and the programming and development community, MacTech Magazine, for Macintosh programmers and developers, announces its "Mac Is Back!" celebration offer.

At over 60% off the cover price, this special limited time offer is available only until October 31, 1998. The offer is for a RISK FREE, twelve issue (e.g., 1 year) subscription to MacTech Magazine at the rate of only $39.95 (Canada: US$52.95, Foreign: US$89.95). Subscribers not completely satisfied with the first issue can simply write "cancel" on their bill, and return it, owing nothing.

"The iMac and Apple's great G3 Power Macintosh and PowerBook products have fired the enthusiasm of Mac developers everywhere," said Clent Richardson, vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations at Apple Computer, Inc. "MacTech Magazine is a top choice of Macintosh developers, and we support its effort to further spread the Macintosh word."

"It's like someone flipped a switch." said Neil Ticktin, Publisher of MacTech Magazine. "The Macintosh development community has started churning out new products. To bring out more than 1000 new Mac products since May is great. We want to reward those developers, and encourage new programmers to join in."

MacTech Magazine, a publication of Xplain Corporation, has been supporting the Macintosh developer and programmer since 1984. Each issue of MacTech contains articles that introduce new Apple technologies, present programming techniques and strategies, review new programming tools, or offer solutions for today's programming challenges. With readers in over 60 countries, MacTech serves as both the industries most valuable reference resource, and its most dependable source of news and information about the ever changing world of Macintosh development.

In addition to the print publication, MacTech's web site is extremely deep, not only with archives for MacTech Magazine, but Apple's develop (the technical journal) archives as well. For more information see (http://www.mactech.com).
