AAA+ SOFTWARE SHIPS RELEASE 1.09 OF JOY
Vienna, 9 April 1998 -- AAA+ Software announces the availability of update
1.09 of Joy, the company's developer productivity and rapid application
development tool. Joy applications run on Windows 95/NT, Apple Rhapsody,
and OPENSTEP/MachOS. No porting or compiling is required.
In its recent review of Joy 1.08, NEXTTOYOU magazine
(http://www.nexttoyou.de) "highly recommended" Joy "to all Rhapsody and
OPENSTEP developers".
The new update adds what NEXTTOYOU missed: an easy-to-use hyperlinked help
system covering all Joy commands.
Joy makes Yellow Box programming easy. The entire functionality of the
Yellow Box frameworks is accessible through Joy scripts. Scripts can
interact with and create any object, class, or method. In addition, Joy
encompasses the entire command set of Tcl 8.0.
The software is available for free download at:
http://www.aaa-plus.com/joy/download.html
There are two license types: Joy Explorer and Joy Developer.
Joy Explorer is the ideal tool for exploring the Yellow Box frameworks.
Developers can create small utilities by using just Rhapsody's Joy-enhanced
Interface Builder application. No other development tools are required.
These utilities will run in Interface Builder's Test Interface mode.
Joy Developer provides full functionality for developing sophisticated
applications. There is no need to re-compile, re-link and re-establish test
scenarios to explore new ideas. Using the "Save Nib as App" feature, users
can turn graphical user interfaces created in Interface Builder into
standalone applications that run on any OPENSTEP or Yellow Box platform.
License keys for Joy Explorer and Joy Developer are $69 and $399
respectively. Upgrade license keys from Joy Explorer to Joy Developer are
$339. Existing registered users can update from earlier versions for free.
Temporary Joy Developer evaluation keys are available through automatic
reply email. Just send an empty message to:
joykey-request@aaa-plus.com
Joy is available for all Yellow Box platforms, including OPENSTEP,
Rhapsody, and Windows NT/95. License keys can be ordered directly from AAA+
or through DevDepot
(http://www.devdepot.com/SBDisplayItem.qry?ItemCode=SJOYDEV).
At the 1998 Macworld/MacTech Editors Choice Awards, Joy 1.0 received a
Finalist Award in the category 'Best Tool for New Technologies'.
