FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Announcing Internet ToolKit v2.0 for 4D

East Lansing, Michigan - August 10, 1998 -- Foresight Technology, Inc. (a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Softec, LLC) announced that it is now
distributing Internet ToolKit (ITK) v2.0 for Windows or Macintosh.
Published by JCA S.A. of France, ITK is an inexpensive yet extremely
powerful external for 4th Dimension (4D). This is ITK's first major release
since 1996 and brings many new features and improvements.

Internet ToolKit for 4D is the best-selling TCP/IP connectivity product for
4D. It allows any developer to send or answer requests using TCP, UDP or
even ICMP; thus allowing the development of any type of industry strength
Internet or intranet servers or clients within 4D V3 or V6 on Windows or
Macintosh. ITK for 4D ships with many examples and demos handling the most
common protocols (web, email, FTP, etc.).

New Features:
- Open transport native: supports up to 1000 simultaneous streams
- Multi-homing support on both MacOS (using OpenTransport 1.3) and
Windows NT
- Simpler stream-handling: get the status of an array of streams with
one command or push back unwanted data into a stream
- New manual
- 4D V6 savvy: BLOB support
- 8 new coding/decoding routines to handle UUENCODE, Quoted Printable
and Base64
- 10 new utilities commands including reading and saving pictures,
opening files in read only, translation of BLOBs to pictures and
vice versa
- Cryptography support: Digest and ROT13
- ICMP Echo: ping any host
- And much more!

New Licensing!
Internet ToolKit v2.0 is available in two versions: Light and Pro. ITK
Light is a low-cost version, which can only handle eight (8) simultaneous
streams while the ITK Pro version has virtually no limitations. The Light
version is aimed for client-side use and not designed for server
implementations due to its stream restriction. Both versions ship with
"No-Hassle" licensing which allows unlimited deployment in compiled
applications without additional licenses. One license must be purchased for
each developer using ITK.

ITK v2.0 Demo and Discussion Mailing List Demos can be downloaded from
Foresight's web site at www.foresight.com. In addition, JCA maintains a
mailing list dedicated to discussions about ITK. Visit their web site at
