METROWERKS ANNOUNCES FOUR NEW CODEWARRIOR PRODUCTS HOSTED ON WINDOWS 95/NT

AUSTIN, Texas-November 11, 1996-Metrowerks Inc. (NASDAQ: MTWKF,
TSE/ME:MWK), one of the world's leading providers of software development
tools, today announced four new Windows-hosted versions of its
award-winning CodeWarrior suite of programming tools. Metrowerks will be
showing the products at COMDEX Fall in Las Vegas Nov. 18-22, and the tools
will begin shipping at the end of the month.

CodeWarrior Gold for Windows 95/NT DR/1
CodeWarrior Academic Pro for Windows 95/NT DR/1

Running on both Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0, these new versions of
CodeWarrior include support for C, C++, Pascal and Java and allow
programmers to build applications for Windows 95, Windows NT and the Mac
OS. CodeWarrior Gold DR/1 (Developer Release 1) will retail for $399 and a
competitive upgrade will be offered for $199. CodeWarrior Academic Pro
will retail for $119.

CodeWarrior Gold and CodeWarrior Academic Pro for Windows 95/NT will follow
Metrowerks' traditional three-times-a-year release schedule, planned for
November, March and July. Customers receive two free updates and technical
support with the purchase of these products. Purchasers of DR (or Developer
Release) versions of these products will receive an extended set of updates.

Discover Programming C/C++ for Windows 95/NT
Discover Programming Pascal for Windows 95/NT

Designed with beginner programmers and hobbyists in mind, Discover C/C++
and Discover Pascal include the full CodeWarrior IDE and allow users to
build applications for Windows 95 and Windows NT. A host of online books,
including "Learn C Under Windows 95/NT" and "Learn C++ Under Windows 95/NT"
by Dave Mark and "Learn Pascal under Windows 95/NT" by Werner Fiebel, help
casual programmers through the learning process. Both Discover products
will retail for $79.

All versions of CodeWarrior for Windows 95/NT feature the full,
professional CodeWarrior IDE, which has become the industry standard for
Mac OS programming. The CodeWarrior IDE features easy-to-use visual tools
complete with project manager, editor, debugger, linker and class browser
for building industrial-strength Windows applications. Online books,
references, tutorials, sample code and examples are included in all
versions.

These new products are part of a new line of Windows-hosted CodeWarrior
products. Metrowerks' first Windows-hosted product, CodeWarrior for
PlayStation, was released in October 1996. Future Windows-hosted versions
of CodeWarrior, targeted at the embedded systems market, will provide
programming tools for multi-purpose, real-time operating systems, such as
Microware's OS-9, as well as a variety of embedded microcontrollers such as
MIPS, PowerPC and 68K. By offering CodeWarrior products on Windows 95/NT
and Mac OS, Metrowerks will strengthen its position as a provider of
powerful cross-platform development solutions.

"With the introduction of CodeWarrior products hosted on Windows 95/NT, we
are now able to offer Windows developers the same powerful, easy-to-use,
cross-platform development tools the Macintosh developer community has
enjoyed," said Jean Blanger, chairman and CEO of Metrowerks. "We are
excited about our entry into the Windows market and committed to providing
our Windows customers with the same excellent technical support and product
improvements that have made our CodeWarrior products an overwhelming
success."
