Avalanche of New Mac Software and Peripherals Continues

Over 1,000 Macintosh titles and USB devices announced since iMac debut

APPLE EXPO PARIS, FRANCE - September 17, 1998 - During a keynote address
here today, Apple Computer announced that since iMac was unveiled on May 6,
1998, over 1,000 new Macintosh hardware and software products have been
introduced by Apple developers around the world. The products range from
innovative new consumer software titles to printers, cameras, and disk
drives that plug-in to iMac's Universal Serial Bus (USB) port. Developers
in Europe, Asia and the Americas have contributed to this avalanche of new
Macintosh products.

"Macintosh hardware and software developers have responded to the promise
of iMac with passion and ingenuity," said Steve Jobs, Apple's interim CEO.
"To bring out more than 1,000 new Mac products since May is awesome news
for Macintosh customers around the world."

iMac began shipping in USA on August 15, and, in Europe and Japan, in early
September.

In total, 1,032 new Macintosh products have been announced since May 6,
including 372 local language software products for Europe and Asia.
