Version 6 (4D V6) relational database today. Company president and
founder Marylene Delbourg-Delphis states, "With 4D V6, ACI has plotted a

Internet/intranet technology, enhanced the developer environment, and
revised the 4th Dimension interface."

4D V6 integrates database technology with Internet capabilities through
its built-in web server, enabling immediate Web data publication simply
by clicking a check box in the Preference dialog. The new version
converts 4D forms to HTML on-the-fly with no need for an external CGI or
additional software. Because of the integrated 4D architecture, a Web
browser becomes just another client to 4D, allowing users to access,
insert, modify and delete data stored in 4D and SQL or ODBC-compliant
databases such as ORACLE, Informix, and Sybase. Additionally, the
optimized 4D Web server architecture guarantees automatic session
maintenance, record locking, transaction management, and data integrity.

4D V6 is an integrated, coherant, 32-bit, cross-platform architecture,
allowing smooth scalability between individual and workgroup
applications. The extensive 4D V6 cross-platform development capabilities
make it a very cost-effective system for development and deployment.

4D V6 enhances the developer environment through new features such as a
world-class debugger, increased speed, memory management and I/O
optimizations, a new graphic interface, and hundreds of new commands.

Other 4D V6 features include triggers and stored procedures,
drag-and-drop support, and an object-based form editor for easy
user-interface creation and straightforward code re-use. 4D V6 also
allows users a hierarchical view of the database structure and easy
access to all 4D objects through 4D Explorer, the elaborate drill-down
