Maplesoft Announces Database Integration Toolbox

Powerful solution makes it easy to combine technical data with world-class
analysis and development tools

Waterloo, Canada, Monday, July 12, 2004 - Maplesoft, the leading provider
of high-performance software tools for engineering, science, and
mathematics, announced today the Database Integration Toolbox. This toolbox
allows you to easily apply the power of Maple 9.5, the principal technical
productivity environment from Maplesoft, to technical datasets. You can
easily query, create and update JDBC-compliant databases within the
interactive, user-friendly Maple environment. The Maplet task assistants
allow you to compose complex queries without any detailed SQL knowledge.
Using state-of-the-art analysis and visualization tools, and innovative
Maplesoft technology, you can design, develop and deploy powerful
applications that use this data, across the enterprise.

Features of this toolbox include:

Maplet task assistant for writing queries, making knowledge of SQL
unnecessary Automatic data conversion between SQL and Maple, allowing
natural manipulations within each environment Powerful Maple technical
analysis and programming tools for data analysis, manipulation,
visualization and transformation Cross-platform and cross-database
implementation for maximum reuse and transferability

"Unlike conventional database application development systems, the
Maplesoft solution offers optimized tools to solve sophisticated modeling
and analysis problems unique to engineering and science," states Eithne
Murray, Product Manager at Maplesoft. "Using Maple's numeric and symbolic
solvers, unrivalled interactive visualizations, and special tools such as
unit management means you get greater insight into your data."

The Database Integration Toolbox will be available in August 2004. It is
part of the Maple Professional Toolbox Series from Maplesoft. The
commercial list price will be $995 US.
