MailWasher Pro for Mac OS X and Linux Offers Users Maximum Spam Protection
with Server-side Filtering Capabilities

Firetrust's award-winning MailWasher Pro is now available for Mac and Linux
users, providing better protection from unwanted and malicious e-mails, as
well as phishing attacks

CHRISTCHURCH -- NEW ZEALAND, February 23, 2005 -- Firetrust Limited,
provider of award-winning anti-spam and email security solutions, today
announced it's now shipping versions of MailWasher Pro for Mac and Linux, a
uniquely designed anti-spam tool that provides additional protection for
businesses and home users from unsolicited and unwanted emails. Within the
Mac and Linux communities the options for effective anti-spam and virus
solutions are limited when compared to PC users, and with the rise in spam
and increasing virus attacks on the Mac and Linux platforms, home and
business Mac and Linux users are in need of a solution that's affordable
and effective.

"We saw a need within the Mac and Linux communities for an effective email
security and content management solution, and wanted to provide that
protection to users within these communities," said Nick Bolton, CEO of
Firetrust Limited. "With more than 5 million users worldwide, MailWasher is
a proven technology that now empowers Mac users to protect themselves
against malicious and unwanted emails."

MailWasher Pro for Mac and Linux provides users with a powerful weapon that
increases in accuracy over time to stop spam, viruses and worms from
invading email inboxes, and provides total protection by stopping these
unwanted and potentially harmful emails from ever reaching a user's inbox.

The award-winning anti-spam software offers an intuitive, convenient and
easy-to-use tool that provides users with a better email experience.
MailWasher Pro features include (partial list):

Feature-rich Interface: Users can access, view and manage multiple email
accounts all in one location

Whitelists/Blacklists: Unwanted and malicious spam is automatically
identified and blocked through blacklisting capabilities; and wanted emails
from friends, colleagues and others deemed as "friendly" are never missed
through whitelisting capabilities

Learning Filters aka "Bayesian filtering": Intelligent filters that learn
to identify good email from spam, and deliver a robust and efficient
approach to solving the barrage of unwanted email

Heuristic Scanning: A process that scans and filters out emails that are
likely to contain viruses or other unwanted content

Virus and Worm Protection: Before a malicious email ever reaches email
inboxes, users can see which emails pose a threat, because MailWasher Pro
is able to identify emails that may contain potential viruses or worms, at
which point the users have the power to delete it at the email server so it
never reaches their computers

MailWasher Pro provides the easiest-to-use and most effective spam filter
available. Unlike other anti-spam solutions, which are integrated into the
email client, a key benefit of MailWasher Pro is that it is "server-side,"
meaning it works outside the email client, so users are better protected
and eliminate the risk of downloading unwanted messages or viruses and
worms.

Here's how the server-side solution works: All emails reside on an email
server, located at either a user's ISP if it's a personal email account, or
within a company's network, if it's a work email account. When the user
launches their email program, it is at that point the emails are downloaded
from the email server to the individual's computer and email program.
Anti-spam solutions that integrate into an email program automatically pose
a risk for the user, because any potential worms or viruses attached to an
email have already entered the user's computer. With the MailWasher Pro
interface, a user can view all email at the server, before ever downloading
the emails into their email program. All filtering and deleting happens at
the server level and users only receive wanted and safe emails. This way
their computers are never compromised.

By reviewing and deleting content at the email server, users are protected
from objectionable content including graphics. Web bugs are rendered
inactive, bandwidth is protected, and viruses and malicious script are
stopped from spreading.

Server-side solutions are not only more effective and safer than products
that integrate into a user's email program, but are more versatile too.
When a user is travelling and stuck on dial-up, MailWasher Pro saves on
bandwidth by giving the user the freedom to only download the necessary or
wanted emails and not all emails, saving time and money.
