MacPopUp Instant Messenger Released

MacPopUp 1.0 allows Mac OS, Windows and Linux users to exchange messages on
any local network.

February 1, 2000 - Today Kanex Group Inc. released MacPopUp 1.0.

MacPopUp is a program that allows Mac users to exchange instant messages
with other users on any local area network (LAN). With MacPopUp, you can
send and receive messages from different operating systems such as Mac OS,
Windows 95/98, Windows NT, Windows for Workgroups, Linux and other UNIX
OSes. MacPopUp is compatible with the Microsoft WinPopup application and
the similar clients in other operating systems.

What can be faster than the real time? You would like to have the
high-speed way of communication in your office, company or college, then
MacPopUp is what you are looking for. With MacPopUp you can send any text
messages to your colleagues, friends or everybody else in the real time.
Now it's become possible to work on your Macintosh using powerful networks
for your business.

MacPopUp allows you to send messages to an individual user and to a whole
workgroup. Besides that MacPopUp can automatically find all users available
on a network, so you needn't to input user names manually.

You don't need to have Internet access and any special servers to work with
MacPopUp. You can send and receive messages as soon as MacPopUp is run. We
have tried to minimize the MacPopUp settings, as a result of that all you
need to do is to install and run the program.

MacPopUp is the easy-to-use Macintosh program that will always help you to
work effectively with your colleagues. Besides the pretty and user friendly
interface the program supports a great number of Apple technologies
increasing its own functionality:

o compatible with Apple Text-to-Speech. You can leave MacPopUp working in
the background mode and keep on doing your business listening to all
incoming messages. Moreover, MacPopUp utilises Apple Speech Recognition
software and accepts more than 25 speech commands.

o supports Apple Internet Address Detectors. Internet Address Detectors
(IAD) provides a set of actions specific to Internet addresses. IAD can
recognize addresses for e-mail, World Wide Web, FTP, newsgroup, and remote
host addresses. With MacPopUp you can send any Internet addresses of
described above to a recipient at the other end who only needs to click on
an address instead of typing a long string.

o supports AppleScript. For those who are aware of AppleScript, MacPopUp
gives a wide range of opportunities to expand its functionality by applying
different scripts. Moreover, program developers can integrate such scripts
into their programs that are to send instant messages on a network.
MacPopUp is also supplied with the set of main scripts examples.

o supports Drag-and-Drop, Clipping files, Appearance Savvy interface,
Contextual menus and the Chat mode for interactive dialogues on any local
network.

o easy to learn how to use MacPopUp due to the Apple Guide technology.
MacPopUp Guide will show you over all MacPopUp features. You can also use
built-in Apple Help and Balloon Help in your future work.
