Lutris Announces Lutris EAS 4.1 J2EE Platform Preview for Mac OS X;
Lutris Tips Hat Toward Promise of Mac OS X in Enterprise Developer Market

SANTA CRUZ, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 11, 2002--Lutris Technologies
Inc., pioneering J2EE(TM) as Java Services, today announced availability of
Lutris EAS 4.1.1 preview version for the Apple Mac OS X platform. Featuring
the Java Services Architecture, Web Services capabilities, enterprise
quality clustering and reliability and the industry's leading wireless and
voice presentation capability, Lutris EAS will provide OS X developers the
environment required to bring projects to market faster by reducing the
need to re-architect their existing applications.

Lutris made the decision to support the UNIX-based Apple platform on the
potential for OS X to make inroads with enterprise Java developers. In
particular, the company believes that Lutris EAS 4.1 will extend the reach
of Mac OS X to Web and wireless applications requiring higher
maintainability, enterprise fail-over support and client-side device
independence.

"Apple has created a compelling platform that combines the best aspects of
Unix with great user interface technology, making OS X irresistible to Java
developers," said Lutris CTO and co-founder Paul Morgan. "Lutris EAS is the
perfect next-generation J2EE platform for Apple and its growing OS X
developer community."

Lutris EAS 4.1 is Lutris' second edition of its next-generation Java
Services platform, originally released in Fall 2001. This edition supports
many new features including automated migration of existing BEA and IBM
J2EE applications as well as essential services, such as UDDI and SOAP,
complemented with a new tool for exporting any Java service as a Web
Service.

Lutris further anticipates that Mac OS X developers will benefit greatly
from Lutris' well-known native support for all the major wireless and voice
XML standards, including HTML, WML, SMS, J2ME(TM), i-mode's CHTML and XHTML
as well as VoiceXML from the W3C. Barracuda, a full MVC/2 style
presentation framework, now complements Lutris' XMLC compiler, the XML
engine behind its wireless capabilities. Barracuda standardizes the process
by which Web developers construct forms, localization, client detection and
event handling.

Lutris EAS is a completely composable platform that has been re-factored
where necessary to give developers greater speed and deployment control.
Further, EAS delivers enterprise quality J2EE that is infinitely extensible
and tunable by Lutris partners to support profiles that incorporate only
those services and features required to meet the needs of their developers
and customers. Lutris EAS is the perfect strategy for VARs and ISVs to
embed in their Mac OS X solutions.
