Kerio Technologies Unveils New Version of Kerio MailServer
Next generation groupware software from Kerio allows for even greater
anti-spam and anti-virus protection

JULY 18, 2005- SANTA CLARA, CA - Kerio Technologies Inc., a leading
provider of Internet security software and messaging solutions, today
announced Kerio MailServer 6.1, which adds Sender Policy Framework (SPF),
Spam Repellent and dual anti-virus scanning to its existing arsenal of
virus and spam-fighting tools. Designed primarily for small and
medium-sized businesses, Kerio MailServer simplifies email, contact and
group calendar management to provide improved collaboration for all types
of organizations.

In the new Kerio MailServer 6.1 the underlying email security technology
has been significantly improved. Kerio has added SPF, a widely adopted
method of email domain authentication, to augment the already included
Caller ID, a similar technology developed by Microsoft.

The new Spam Repellent feature effectively fights off both spam and viruses
by inserting a delay in the SMTP handshake, which causes a virus or
spam-sending zombie to give up the connection attempt.

"Our tests showed that Spam Repellent effectively cuts 60 to 70% of spam
and viruses before they reach the mail server," said Dusan Vitek, VP
Marketing at Kerio Technologies Inc. "Best of all, there are no false
positives because this technique does not affect legitimate email traffic."

Kerio has also added dual anti-virus scanning so that mail administrators
can use both the built-in McAfee Anti-virus and a third party anti-virus
through a provided plug-in. Plug-ins are available for Symantec, Sophos,
Grisoft AVG, Eset NOD 32, Computer Associates and for the newly added
VisNetic Antivirus.

"Harmful content in email is a problem that affects all size
organizations," said Dusan Vitek. "The smaller guys don't have the same
resources that enterprises do for fighting it. Even the smallest businesses
and schools deserve virus and spam-free email and collaboration to help
them communicate more efficiently."

With its SME focus, Kerio MailServer is the mail server of choice for many
smaller organizations looking to use a secure alternative to the other
groupware offerings on Windows. Kerio MailServer 6.1 reinforces its
commitment to Mac OS X users with support for Tiger and the addition of
synchronization with Apple's Address Book and iCal applications and
improved integration with Microsoft's Entourage groupware client.

"Kerio MailServer 6.1 provides sophisticated email, calendaring and
security capabilities for small and mid-sized enterprises, including
spam-blocking tools that can dramatically reduce the load on email servers,
all at a very low price point," said Michael Osterman, president of
Osterman Research. "Kerio's system offers a sophisticated and very
attractive alternative for smaller organizations."

Price and availability
Kerio MailServer is available now from over 200 partners worldwide and
starts at $499 for 20 users. Kerio MailServer runs on Linux, Mac OS X, and
Windows.
