APCONS IntellaPatch Electronic Fiber Optic Patch Panel Now
Supports Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP), 32 Ports, and 2 Gbd

Portland, OR -- APCON, a leading manufacturer of network hardware and
software solutions, has announced two new versions of their industry
leading Intelligent Electronic Fiber Optic Patch Panel or
IntellaPatch panels. The new products, Model ACI-2048 and ACI-2049
offer up to 32 ports with fixed or Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP)
optical transceivers in 1 and 2 Gbd formats. These systems offer new
and previously unavailable flexibility in management of fibre channel
connections for test and compatibility labs, Storage Area Networks
(SAN), and high value cable management.

APCONs IntellaPatch panel is the perfect tool for test and
compatibility labs. The IntellaPatch panel eliminates the excessive
handling, patching and re-patching of the fiber cable. Because the
cross connection of cable can now be accomplished remotely, through
software, tests - including cable pulls - are now scheduled,
repeatable, and organized to run continuously and unattended.
Combined with APCONs powerful AutoSwitch scheduling software users
have a totally integrated solution to their cable management and test
scheduling requirements.

We are pleased to lead the way with both 2 Gbd and SFP IntellaPatch
panels. Said Richard Rauch, President of APCON. Fabric switch and
SAN hardware and software providers need the higher capacity of 2 Gbd
and the flexibility of pluggable transceivers to get products tested
and to the market.

The system software enables the user to remotely operate and control
the IntellaPatch panel configuration in FC-AL mode, or point-to-point
mode. Up to 32 IntellaPatch panels can be connected using a single
TCP/IP address for control. APCON's Control Software provides edit
and active modes to enable different IntellaPatch panel
configurations to be saved. Activity can be monitored on each port;
in addition to setting alarm parameters and monitoring power supply
status.

The APCON IntellaPatch panel includes a standard 10 Base-T Ethernet
LAN port connection for remote management and monitoring. Through the
use of TCP/IP, systems administrators can control the IntellaPatch
panel from any workstation on the network. Dual serial ports allow
multiple users to remotely control the panel from two independent
computers. The serial ports can be configured to as separate
communication channels or in daisy-chain mode to connect one
IntellaPatch panel to another.

The exciting, new IntellaPatch Model ACI-2048 and ACI-2049 (SFP)
Electronic Fiber Optic Patch Panel is now available in up to 32 port
versions starting at $4,495.00 USD.
