SOFTPRESS SYSTEMS RELEASES FREEWAY 3.1

-- Freeway 3.1 includes enhanced Flash handling, extended Freeway Actions,
faster performance and improved support for Arabic Web publishing --

Oxford, England -- February 6th, 2001 -- SoftPress Systems today announced
a significant update to Freeway, their award-winning Web-design software
for the Apple Macintosh. The new release, Freeway 3.1, includes new
features as well as performance improvements and maintenance changes. The
update from version 3.0x is now freely available from the SoftPress Systems
Web site (http://www.softpress.com).

NEW FEATURES IN FREEWAY 3.1

* Modify links and backgrounds in Flash files right from Freeway's Flash
Extras interface. A major time-saver!

* JavaScript handling for Actions has been substantially extended - with 57
new additions to the JavaScript API - giving developers even more power to
create dynamic behaviors.

* Freeway's text processing has been further optimized to make editing of
large documents even faster.

* Arabic font encodings support has been included in Freeway 3.1 to help
provide more effective ways of producing Arabic-language Web sites.

ABOUT FREEWAY
Freeway meets the needs of graphic designers who want an intuitive tool for
designing industrial-strength Web sites... without the hassle of coding. It
uniquely provides a fully-featured DTP-style user interface that makes
professional Web-site design more accessible than with any other visual
Web-design application. Freeway's "Page and Pasteboard" environment for
designing and accurately positioning type, graphics and multimedia allows
designers familiar with applications like QuarkXPress to feel immediately
at home when creating for the Web.

Noted for the clean HTML code that it generates, Freeway offers a wide
range of features for the more technical aspects of site production. One of
the keys to making high-end Web-design features fully accessible is the
Freeway Actions technology. Actions effectively separate the creative
design process from the integration of complex scripting for dynamic
behaviors and back-end functionality - allowing creative designers to
concentrate on what they do best. Application of Actions include Web
publishing from databases, development of e-commerce solutions, Dynamic
HTML behaviors and JavaScript objects such as rollovers.

Light versions of Freeway 3 are marketed and sold by Macmillan Digital
Publishing in their Web Page Construction Kit 6.0 and by Apple Computer
through their K-6 Web Publishing Kit.

LOCALIZED VERSIONS OF FREEWAY
Freeway has been fully localized for Japanese, French, German and Italian,
and further localized versions are in preparation.

PRICING & CROSSGRADES
The upgrade from Freeway 3 to Freeway 3.1 is free-of-charge and available
as an updater from the SoftPress Web site.
