FileMaker Mobile for Palm Powered Handhelds

FileMaker Mobile Is First Integrated Database for Windows, Mac OS and Palm
Powered Handhelds

Offers easy load-and-go and synchronization of FileMaker Pro data

DEMOmobile 2000, PASADENA, CA -- Sept. 6, 2000 -- Extending its
world-renowned database software into the burgeoning Palm Economy,
FileMaker, Inc. today announced FileMaker Mobile for the Palm OS platform,
an easy-to-use companion to FileMaker Pro 5 that will allow a user to
transfer and synchronize data between FileMaker Pro databases on Windows
and Mac OS systems and Palm PoweredTM handhelds. FileMaker Mobile,
scheduled to ship this winter, is designed on a simple load and go mobile
user model: an individual user simply selects and loads the FileMaker data
they require from their desktop computer to the Palm OS handheld. Later,
the data on the handheld may be re-synched via the Palm HotSync technology
with the individual's single-user FileMaker Pro database on the desktop
computer.

"FileMaker Mobile is a first step in the company's broader mobile database
strategy, which is to give individual and workgroup FileMaker Pro database
users access to their FileMaker databases wherever they may go," said
FileMaker, Inc. president Dominique Goupil.

The new solution was previewed to about 1,300 corporate in-house and
independent developers gathered last week at the FileMaker Developer
Conference in Palm Desert, CA. It will be shown publicly at DEMOmobile 2000
in Pasadena, CA., today and at Go Mobile in Las Vegas, NV, Sept. 10-13.

"FileMaker's mobile database software adds a great and compelling solution
to the enterprise applications available for the Palm OS platform," said
Chuck Yort, Vice President of Business and Government at Palm, Inc. "The
ability to gain access through a handheld computer to vital enterprise data
from companies like FileMaker is an important benefit for increasingly
mobile workgroups."

The company said that FileMaker Mobile will be priced under $100 (U.S.
suggested retail price). System requirements for FileMaker Mobile for the
Palm OS platform are not available at this time.

Today users are already browsing and updating their FileMaker Pro databases
wirelessly using PDAs such as the Palm VII and Internet-enabled smart
phones via third-party solutions (see details at www.filemaker.com). In
addition, FileMaker's built-in Instant Web Publishing feature also lets
users, with one mouse click, share databases on the intranet or the
Internet for access from anywhere in the world.

FileMaker is a leading provider to the growing Web-publishing and workgroup
database markets. FileMaker lets departments and teams create databases to
manage and track projects, assets and people. Its award-winning FileMaker
line of database software provides relational power, instant and custom Web
publishing and legendary ease-of-use. FileMaker, Inc. is the database
software subsidiary of Apple Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL).
