Exacq announces version 4.0 of exacqVision, Webserver

Exacq Technologies (http://www.exacq.com) has released version 4 of its exacqVision video management system software and version 2.0 of the exacqVision Webserver video management(VSM).

ExacqVision 4.0 adds a new mapping feature and an Enterprise Server Option. Mapping is now available on all exacqVision systems. Users can add maps of geographic locations, entire facilities, rooms and more by uploading an image (e.g. JPEG, bitmap, gif) and then associating cameras with it by utilizing the icons.

With the release of version 4.0 Exacq Technologies introduces the new Enterprise Server Option. In addition to having all of the features of the Standard version, the new Enterprise Server Option adds three new features to exacqVision: Multi-level Mapping, Enterprise User Setup and integration with Active Directory and LDAP. The Enterprise Server Option can be added to any new or existing exacqVision server running version 4.0 or later.

The multi-level mapping feature allows users to create hierarchical or nested maps linked to exacqVision servers and cameras located anywhere in the world. The user can investigate the status of systems at a high level and then drill down through the layered maps to view live video from any location.

In addition to the new mapping features, exacqVision has added enterprise administration functionality to add and modify users. An administrator can utilize the new Enterprise User Setup feature to add a user to a single server or multiple servers simultaneously. Additionally, administrators that use Active Directory from Microsoft or Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (known as LDAP) to create, query and modify users over a network, can now synchronize that functionality on exacqVision servers.

Version 2.0 of Webserver allows to view live surveillance video from multiple exacqVision servers, Webserver 2.0 also powerful video searching and playback along with the ability to control analog and network PTZ cameras. exacqVision Webserver 2.0 is available to exacqVision users at no extra charge and can be installed on new and existing servers. The Webserver incorporates the same user accounts created and maintained by the VMS server’s administrator. Therefore, the same users who have access to an exacqVision system via the client can instantly have access using a web browser with any computer or mobile device.

The exacqVision Webserver is designed for viewing live or recorded video in low or restricted bandwidth situations. Since ActiveX is not required, the browser-based thin client operates on all of the leading browsers including Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Opera. Not only does this provide video surveillance access to computers with an Internet connection (regardless of the operating system), it also creates a tool for popular mobile devices with web surfing functionality. The service is ideal for javascript-enabled mobile browsers (e.g. iPhones, iPod Touch and Android devices) as well as non-javascript WAP mobile browsers common with most cell phones.

The exacqVision VMS software is an open, cross platform system used in video surveillance systems. The server software is installed on exacqVision hybrid servers (incorporating analog and network cameras), exacqVision IP camera servers and on commercial off-the-shelf servers running either a Windows or Linux operating system. Every exacqVision server can be viewed and administered from the free client software available for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux systems. The client software connects to an unlimited number of exacqVision servers (regardless of the operating systems being used) to create a scalable surveillance solution utilizing both analog and network cameras.
