PRESS RELEASE: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ASANTE LAUNCHES POWERFUL NEW WORKGROUP SWITCHES
48-Port Managed Switch Features Both 1000T and
GBIC Interfaces at Under $40 Per Port

San Jose, California, June 18, 2002: Asant=C8 Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:
ASNT.OB) today announced a 48-port 10/100 enterprise switch with 2
integrated Gigabit Ethernet uplinks. The combination of the switch's media
flexibility, 1 rack unit form factor and $1773 retail price make the
IntraCore 3548 an excellent solution for the edge of the enterprise.

"The IC3548 is the only 48-port switch that has both 2 integrated
1000T/100TX/10T ports and 2 GBIC holders,=EE commented Wilson Wong, Asant=C8
Chairman, President, and CEO. =ECIt has the right connections in every way,
shape, or form and it's only 1 rack unit high. In addition -- with a price
that's over 60% below a comparable Cisco Catalyst 2950G-48 -- this Layer 2
switch is an exceptional value."

TAILORED TO PRECISELY MATCH NETWORK NEEDS IntraCore 3548-2GT users start
with a base configuration of a 48-port 10/100 switch. They then choose from
2 different auto-selecting dual Gigabit Ethernet uplinks with copper
(fixed) or GBIC for fiber (optional GBIC transceiver). Multimedia services
(such as voice, video, audio, and telephony) can be deployed through the
network with multi-service technologies: IP multicast with IGMP and 64
VLANs. These switches support the highest level of priority queues -- 4 on
each 10/100 port and 8 on Gigabit ports. This advanced QoS software option
is ideal for sophisticated Ethernet environments, including education,
Ethernet, corporate e-business, and healthcare networks.

An optional DC backup power supply, the IC35-EPS12, ensures continued
operation in situations of primary power failure. When used with
uninterrupted power supplies, the IC3548 maintains high productivity and
extremely low downtime on mission-critical networks.

48-PORT SWITCH BECOMING PREFERRED ENTERPRISE FORM FACTOR "48 port switches
are becoming the preferred switch for wiring closets," stated Kate Lowes,
Asant=C8 Vice President of Advanced Systems. "For medium- to high-density
wiring closets, we're seeing people choose 48-port switches over 24-port
and chassis switches. The added benefit is that by 'home-running' each
48-port switch back to the main distribution frame, 1 Gbps full duplex to
each 48-port switch is delivered=F3versus just delivering 1 Gbps full duplex
to the wiring closet."

ENTERPRISE CLASS FEATURE-SET
The IntraCore 3548 supports all the features to be deployed in a modern
multi-vendor, standards-based enterprise network: IEEE 802.1q VLANs, SNMP,
RMON, Telnet, Web Management, and 802.1ad spanning tree. Management
features include:

STATISTICS: User-configurable graph types and counters for RX/TX/Error for
each port and unit

PORT CONFIGURATION: State, status, link status, and mode; auto negotiation,
flow control, priority, and security

SECURITY: Configurable per-port security with programmable action and
trusted MAC address

UTILITY: Integrated utility to detect duplicate IP addresses
