easy beat 1.1 - adds support for XG and GS, including all QuickTime voices

Hagenberg, AUSTRIA, March-22-2000. UNI SOFTWARE PLUS is proud to announce
version 1.1 of our music software easy beat. Many things have been added,
fixed and improved since the initial release of easy beat 1.0 in September
1999. The following is an incomplete extract from the list of changes,
which should give you a brief impression of the most important changes and
enhancements.

* easy beat now has an "Inspector": a floating window that shows various
properties of the current selection.
* A new "Playback Options" dialog lets you specify some settings for use
with external synthesizers.
* A new "Recording Options" dialog (accessible from the Music menu) lets
you control how notes are recorded from a MIDI instrument.
* All General MIDI drum sets (including "Jazz" and "SFX") are supported.
* The instrument pop-up menu has two additional items that let you use ALL
instruments supported by QuickTime and/or external synthesizers. This
includes all instruments that are part of Roland's GS or Yamaha's XG
standards.
* The instrument menu can be configured with instrument description files.
* Controllers can now be edited numerically by selecting a range and typing
the new value(s) or a scaling factor.
* A couple of typical 1.0 problems have been fixed.
* and much more ...

easy beat 1.1 comes with an additional "Delta Manual" (24 pages!) that
describes the new features in detail. If you already used easy beat 1.0,
this document contains all you need to know to use the new features.

The new version can be downloaded from:
http://www.unisoftwareplus.com/products/easybeat/download.html

The upgrade to version 1.1 is FREE for all registered easy beat users.

For newcomers - what is easy beat?
==================================

With easy beat, you can compose your songs by drawing notes or recording
them with a MIDI instrument, see up to 16 tracks in multiple views, choose
from 128 instruments and 9 drum sets, print the score and tabulature, add
effects and variations, listen to your song using QuickTime or an external
synthesizer, and create MIDI files or QuickTime movies for the web.

As its name suggests, easy beat is music for the Mac as it should be:
powerful, yet easy to use. Instead of the usual tool-based user interface,
easy beat uses a simple and intuitive point-and-click technique. Adding,
selecting, moving, copying notes - all these operations are done with
simple mouse gestures.

And all this is made available at the very reasonable price of only US$ 89.

easy beat features:
+ up to 16 tracks plus a metronome track
+ 128 instruments plus 9 drum kits with the QuickTime synthesizer;
when an external synthesizer is used, easy beat can use ALL its
instruments.
+ multiple views (score, drum, keyboard, TAB, chords, controllers)
+ import and export of standard MIDI files
+ export of QuickTime movies and AIFF files
+ background music (play a song while you edit it or work with
other programs)
+ single-track real-time recording (requires a MIDI adapter
and a MIDI instrument)
+ stylistic variations (shuffle, emphasis, arpeggio, delay, ...)
+ high-quality score printing
+ templates for frequently used note and controller fragments
+ built-in guitar tuner

All you need to work with easy beat is:
- A Macintosh with a 68020 processor and 90 MHz or a PowerPC,
- Mac OS 7.0 or newer (Mac OS 9 recommended),
- QuickTime 3 or newer (QuickTime 4 recommended).
No extra hardware is required to compose, play and print songs.
If an external synthesizer or a MIDI instrument is attached to your Mac,
easy beat can use them to play and record songs.

The easy beat package contains
+ The easy beat application
+ An 90+ pages tutorial with a lot of example files
+ An 100+ pages reference manual
+ The EasyNotes font for best printing results
+ A couple of additional example and template files
