For Immediate Release
Deneba Internet Graphics Server 2.0 Ships (DIGS)(TM)
Access, View and Proof Graphic Files via World Wide Web
Miami, FL - Deneba Software today released version 2.0 of the Deneba
Internet Graphics Server, which has been updated to take advantage of key
new features and technologies available in Canvas 7. With the
enhancements, DIGS 2.0 allows you to use a web browser to retrieve and view
Canvas graphics assets that are stored in DIGS-managed directories (on a
Windows(R) NT4 or 2000 server) faster than ever. A single-connection, one
user license of the Canvas-compatible version of DIGS is available for free
to all current Canvas 7 registered users. An additional five-connection
license is available for $995.95; additional file format filters sold
separately.
DIGS provides many workflow advantages for people that need to collaborate
and share graphical information from different physical locations. Through
a web browser, users can view the contents of the file at full resolution,
scroll and change pages, switch layers, and change magnification. There is
no need to download the file, install browser plug-ins or enable Java(tm).
All the zooming, processing and navigation calculations are performed by
the server, which then sends small GIF and JPEG files to the web client for
viewing, using the same state-of-the-art compression and optimization
algorithms found in Canvas 7. In addition, the processing and display
enhancements of Canvas 7 have also been integrated into DIGS, providing for
quick response times. The addition of Canvas technologies into DIGS
enhances your ability to interact in real-time with large, complex files
over simple modem connections.
DIGS 2.0 provides significant productivity and cost-saving benefits:
* Graphics content creators at advertising agencies, design studios,
magazines, and newspapers can provide clients and colleagues the ability to
efficiently view working documents, and proof, approve or request changes.
* Corporations and government agencies can share technical drawings,
schematic diagrams, engineering studies, and other materials instantly
around the globe with complete security.
* Medical facilities can share graphics imagery such as X-rays, sonograms,
MRI and CAT scans within the medical community, as well as provide secure
access directly to patients.
DIGS requires minimal effort to install and maintain. Simply drag and drop
graphic files into DIGS-managed directories. Those files become instantly
available over the internet to anyone with the proper password security
access. All graphics files in DIGS-managed directories are automatically
indexed, allowing searches based on file name, keywords, document
properties and any text within the document. When you find the file you
want, you can open, view, download or convert files to another format, all
using a web browser. Visit www.deneba.com/digs to see DIGS in action.
