FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Deep Sky Technologies, Inc., Releases First Public Beta of eTrans

Public Beta of New 4th Dimension Component

Vero Beach, FL - Thursday, October 4th, 2001: Deep Sky Technologies, Inc.,
today announced the release of the first public beta of eTrans for
Macintosh and Windows. eTrans is a 4th Dimension component which provides a
simple, consistent interface to online credit card authorization service
providers. Using eTrans, 4th Dimension developers can build credit card
authorization services into their 4D databases in a matter of minutes.

With eTrans, credit card and electronic check processing can be added to 4D
applications with as little as four (4) lines of code. Switching between
gateway processors requires a change in only a single line of code when
using the eTrans component. This is ideal for vertical market applications
where the processing of credit cards and electronic checks would be a value
added feature for end customers.

Currently, eTrans supports processing of transactions through the following
provider services online:

AuthorizeNet
PlanetPayment
LinkPoint
E-Xact

Other gateway providers will be supported in future releases of the eTrans
component.

"eTrans providers a very ser of functionality to 4D developers in a simple
and efficient format", said Steven G. Willis, President, Deep Sky
Technologies, Inc. "With eTrans, developers can now add credit card and
electronic check processing directly to their 4D based applications in a
matter of minutes. And, there is no need anymore to decipher the often
confusing documentation from different gateway processors online. eTrans
provides a single interface to all supported providers, so even switching
between providers is a simple matter for 4D developers."

eTrans works "on top" of HTTP Client Deux, another 4D component available
for free from Deep Sky Technologies, Inc. HTTP Client Deux provides a
complete web request interface for 4D developers just a couple of routines.

eTrans also works "on top" of TCP Deux, another 4D component available from
Deep Sky Technologies, Inc. TCP Deux provides completely transparent
operation with 4D Internet Commands v6.7.x, Internet ToolKit v2.0.x, and
Internet ToolKit v2.5.x; any of these plugins can be used without any
coding changes. Because eTrans needs to communicate with the authorization
service providers via SSL, eTrans also requires ITK 2.5.x.

All of these components do require that the BASh 4D component be installed
for it to operate correctly. BASh is a 4D component available for free from
DSTi. BASh handles all of the core routines needed to properly run TCP
Deux, HTTP Client Deux, and eTrans.

The beta, officially called v1.0.0b05, for eTrans is open to the public.
The eTrans beta archive contains serialization for using the component
through the end of October 2001. A full manual, explaining every call and
feature available in eTrans, is included with the component.

Features in the eTrans component

The functionality available in the eTrans component includes:

- Single interface adding fields to a financial transaction;
- Full support for the following providers and transaction types:
AuthorizeNet Credit Card (Direct Response)

PlanetPayment Credit Card (Direct Response)
PlanetPayment Credit Card (Relay Response)
PlanetPayment eCheck (Direct Response)
PlanetPayment eCheck (Relay Response)
