CDFinder 5.1.1 released

CDFINDER 5.1.1 RELEASED

Langenhahn, Germany - April 16, 2008 -- CDFinder, the leading disc
cataloging application for the Apple Macintosh, receives an update with
some new features, and lots of bugfixes.

"The new integration of Apples QuickLook technology directly into CDFinder
allows our customers to quickly view the contents of any photo, song,
video, or other document, from inside CDFinder," said Norbert M. Doerner,
chief developer of the CDFinder team. In addition, the team improved the
already extensive GPS support by a world map to show a coordinate when
doing a GPS search, and improved cataloging of GPS data from RAW and PSD
files.

CDFinder for Macintosh is a Universal Binary and works with PowerPC and
Intel-Macs. A Windows version is available as well, which is compatible to
Windows 2000, XP, 2003 Server and Vista. CDFinder is shareware. The demo
version is unlimited in time, but restricted to 25 catalogues. A single
license is 29 Euro / 39 USD. Multiple licenses for business or network use
are priced depending on the number of clients and features required.

About CDFinder
Being one of the first cataloging tools for the Macintosh in the market,
CDFinder today is the most powerful cataloging software available for Macs.
Launched in 1995 it has evolved to a cross platform application that also
easily integrates in networks, and offers superior work flow integration.
CDFinder reads and catalogues text files, photo-data, song files, and many
other file formats from various memory devices.

A typical Mac application, CDFinder is very easy to use. Useful features
like auto cataloging and a powerful and fast search engine, which also
includes a connection to Apples Spotlight search, make it a powerful part
of any work flow. CDFinder records more than just standard data: It reads
meta data of various picture formats, as well as meta data of MP3 and AAC
audio files, and adds title, year, and genre to audio CDs. Even the content
of zip and other archive types are added to the catalogue.

The quality and ease of use has persuaded more than 22.000 private users in
79 countries, as well as small and large businesses all over the world. The
list of CDFinder pro users also includes NASA, The New York Times,
Volkswagen, and IKEA.

For Windows users, a Windows version of CDFinder is available.

CDFinder 5.1.1 New Features Overview

- QuickLook Integration in Leopard: Select any file in CDFinder and hit the
Space key to get a full preview of the document, song, movie, or photo (if
the original file is online)! That even works for multiple selected files!

- CDFinder can now catalog all metadata of AIFF songs, including Cover Art,
Lyrics and all other typical fields

- CDFinder can now catalog the IPTC and GPS metadata of RAW and PSD photos

- MP3 Cover Art is now being read from ID3v2.2 format tags as well as the
ID3v2.3 tags

- CDFinder is now able to export the GPS coordinates of all selected photos
(along with their names and IPTC caption) into a KML file (to be used with
Google Earth and other applications)

- The GPS distance search window now displays the selected coordinate in a
nice world map

- The Info bar at the top of the Found Items and Catalog Content windows
can now be hidden through the View menu

- All GPS related context menu entries now use the GPS icon from
http://www.geotagicons.com/

- Added some hidden settings to enhance the behaviour of CDFinder - please
check the Tips & Tricks section of the CDFinder Users Guide!

- Changed the keyboard shortcuts to set the label for selected items, and
now uses Command-1 and Command-2 to switch the selected view from Icon to
List mode

- The context menu for Found Items now has the "Reveal in Catalog" entry back

- The Inspector now also shows the altitude of GPS coordinates

- Fixes a crashing bug when printing CD labels in Leopard (that is an Apple
bug, but we could fix it anyway in CDFinder)

- Fixes a bug of Leopard, where Apple has changed the behaviour of "rounded
buttons". You could see that in the Find dialog. CDFinder now uses much
nicer buttons to add or remove new search criteria

- Fixes a bug in the GPS distance search, where a rounding error could
sometimes produce incorrect results

- Fixes a bug in GPS cataloging, where another rounding error could
sometimes produce wrong longitude seconds

- Fixes a bug of cataloging some JPG photos with XMP metadata where
CDFinder would not read the IPTC comments of the file properly

The new CDFinder 5.1.1 can be obtained from the CDFinder Web Site
(http://www.cdfinder.de/).

The update is free to all existing users.
