CalDigit RAID Card for PCIe Macs

The CalDigit RAID Card is now shipping!

Placentia, California - July 14, 2008. The CalDigit RAID Card is the
perfect addition to any PCIe equipped desktop computer. It allows you to
add a hardware RAID to 4 internal hard drives as well as the ability to add
up to 12 drives externally.

Designed with the Creative Content professional in mind, the CalDigit RAID
Card adds RAID protected storage, additional drive speed, and additional
flexibility to any PCIe equipped desktop computer. Whether you make a
living on your computer or are just a casual user, the CalDigit RAID Card
gives you the reassurance that your data will get to you faster with added
protection.

The CalDigit RAID Card is 100% hardware RAID. Unlike software RAID
solutions, the CalDigit RAID Card had a dedicated Intel XScale processor
and 256MB of cache on board. This frees up the host CPU, allowing the
user to get maximum performance out of their workstation. The CalDigit RAID
Card supports a variety of RAID levels (0, 1, 5, 6 and JBOD) to meet the
needs of a wide range of users. The CalDigit RAID Card provides RAID
performance and protection for to up to 16 drives (4 internal and 12
external via the CalDigit HDElement). At maximum capacity 16TB of storage
is capable, all at speeds of up to 500MBs.

The innovative and modular design allows users to pay-as-they-go. This
means that the user can purchase a reasonable amount of storage to start,
and then as their storage needs increase they can add and expand the
CalDigit RAID Card's capacity. The CalDigit RAID Card supports 4 drives
internally, and up to 3 HDElements (each HDElement contains 4 drives).
Another unique feature of the CalDigit RAID Card, is it's ability to
migrate your data and RAID levels. This gives the user expanded
flexibility and room to grow and expand, without having to worry about
loosing valuable data.

The CalDigit RAID Card works on multiple platforms and is both Mac and
Windows bootable. If you're using an Apple Mac Pro, and need to boot into
Windows, the CalDigit RAID Card is also BootCamp bootable. This is
something that other RAID cards can't do. The CalDigit RAID Card also
features CalDigit's proprietary ASTT (Active Sustained Transfer
Technology). ASTT makes sure that your data is kept in check, avoiding
sudden drops in throughput and performance. This has a special importance
for video applications meaning that dropped frames are a thing of the past.

The CalDigit RAID Card has a MSRP of $549, making it a truly affordable
hardware RAID solution, and it's available now! For more information visit
the CalDigit website (http://www.caldigit.com/RAIDCard/). You can get the
CalDigit RAID Card from your local CalDigit Dealer.
