Beehive ftp forms v2.7

P R E S S R E L E A S E

Albuquerque, NM - March. 28, 2001 - Pine Island Software is releasing new
2.7 versions of our "Beehive ftp forms" desktop file transfer client for
Macintosh ,Windows and Browsers. We are also releasing and new 2.7 versions
of our "Beehive ftp manager" automation utility for Macintosh and windows.
New features include, native html forms support, job numbering, scheduled
folder polling and auto-send, multiple email notifications, central
administration and updating and complete integration with Pine Island's
universal file transfer portal SendFile.NET. (BEEHIVE FTP FORMS DEMOS AT
http://www.thebeehive.com )

SendFile.NET is the first complete JAVA ftp applet for use with Macintosh
browsers with MRJ! Pine island Software has installed over 500 site
licenses of the new Browser-based Java ftp client at printing, prepress and
Newspaper sites. Unlike other Browser-based file transfer products,
SendFile.NET supports true ftp (file transfer protocol) and does NOT
require ANY software components to reside on the client's desktop! Now, in
its second release, SendFile.NET supports a universal sendfile/getfile ftp
architecture which virtualizes ftp and allows any subscriber to send files
to any internet user, even if the recipient doesn't have an ftp server!

HOW SENDFILE.NET WORKS : (COMPLETE SENDFILE DEMO AT http://www.sendfile.net
) Simple as 1-2-3 to send files - After clicking on your www.SendFile.NET
account URL 1) Enter a recipient's email address into the destination
address. 2) attach files to any message (or form) and 3) click Send.

Even more simple to receive files - The recipient receives an email
notification with a URL and password notifying them that they have files
waiting on www.SendFile.NET. They click on the URL in the message, enter
their password in the browser password window and an
inbox appears with their files to download.

KEY FEATURES OF SendFile.NET and GetFile.NET:
* SendFile.NET virtualizes ftp services and enables universal access.
Users don't need to know ftp settings information to send files and
they don't need to download client software - if they have a current
browser and an email address they can use SendFile.NET/GetFile.NET!
Also, participating sponsor FTP servers can be located anywhere on
the Internet.
* SendFile.NET offers advanced security. Our encrypted ftp site key
technology enables ftp to function with the security of email. Users
never view ftp directories directly. Rather, they access files via
handles served from the SendFile.NET database.
* SendFile.NET offers the reliability and speed of TRUE ftp, unlike
other browser file transfers which use slow and unreliable browser
print/upload functions.
* SendFile.NET supports multiple html forms. You can create order
forms, job tickets, indexing forms, etc.
* SendFile.NET has built-in Beehive "On-the-Fly" streaming
compression for 5-30x compression ratios.
* SendFile.NET files can be automatically processed by the SendFile
FTP Manager. Our FTP Manager agent can automate many file and forms
processing tasks, (sending receipts, notifications, printing forms,
moving and deleting files, decoding and decompressing files,
exporting forms data, and more).
* SendFile.NET has an Inbox and Outbox for queueing and reviewing jobs.

APPLICATIONS :
SendFile.NET is widely used in 2 applications:
1) Printing, Prepress and Newspaper Applications - SendFile.NET is
the perfect choice for sites that have customers who need to send
forms and files for processing, but the customers don't want to
download our drag and drop FTP Forms desktop client. Jobs coming in
from SendFile.NET are handled automatically by the FTP Manager (the
same way as jobs coming from our Beehive ftp forms desktop client).
2) Specialty e-commerce and Digital Asset Management Applications -
Many web application developers who need to integrate a reliable file
transfer product have chosen SendFile.NET. These vendors now have an
alternative to the unreliable browser print/upload functions. The
SendFile.NET status window removes any uncertainty the customer has
about file transfer progress.

BRIEF TECHNICAL OVERVIEW :
SendFile.NET has three main architectural components: 1) a compact ftp Java
applet, 2) Apache web server with integrated control modules, and 3) a
tightly integrated SQL transaction database. Operating in concert, these
components power both the SendFile.NET and Getfile.NET file transfer
operations.

When you subscribe to SendFile.NET, you receive a unique URL link that
launches SendFile.NET with your custom form(s), ftp parameters and logo.
All SendFile.NET clients are launched from a centralized launch portal
(maintained by Pine Island) to the customer's browser - but the ftp server
can be anywhere on the web! This centralized launch scheme ensures an
uncomplicated installation...just link the URL to your website and you are
ready to go! At the same time, the distributed ftp server architecture
prevents ftp bottlenecks.

The SendFile.NET Java applet contains our On-the-Fly streaming compression
technology for ftp. On-The-Fly compression technology is available with all
our ftp clients - Beehive FTP Forms for Macintosh and Windows and now
SendFile.NET. On-the-Fly reduces file transfer time as much a 96%!

PRICES:
The price of SendFile.NET is $595. This includes unlimited ftp client
distribution (Mac, Windows and Java) for one ftp server. Also included is
our FTP Manager file processing software for both Mac and Windows. The
GetFile.NET proofing option may be added for an additional $195.
