v5.1 Adds Convenient Functions for System Administrators; New

CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12, 2003--Arkeia Corp.
today released a newly updated version of its award-winning enterprise
backup solution that incorporates an assortment of innovative features
for augmenting the program's inherently powerful heterogeneous network
functions.

Arkeia v5.1 includes expanded remote access capabilities,
embedded supervision functions, and even broader heterogeneous support
and compatibility with the latest tape drive technologies.

"Version 5.1 consolidates Arkeia's position as the Linux
market leader while confirming its position as providing the most
extensive platform support among network backup products," Arkeia

major part of the reason we are a leader in backup and recovery

New features of Arkeia v5.1 include:

--Access to the Arkeia backup server from any location, on the
company network or via any Internet connection. Thanks to the Java
User interface, a system administrator can log on to the Arkeia server
from virtually any computer, including Linux, Unix, Windows, Mac OS X,
etc. Backup and recovery administration options become even more
flexible.--Centralized supervision of Arkeia clients on the network
with new setup tools that can consult and/or configure clients. System
administrator can monitor mission critical factors like client system
configuration, network cards, TCP buffer size, memory info, etc.
Information includes the Arkeia version, client port, installed
plug-ins, backup options and more.--More platform support including
PowerPC and IA-64 platforms for both the Arkeia client and server and
Mac OS X as a backed up client.--Option for Lotus hot backup plug-in:
interfacing with the Lotus API Arkeia's Lotus plug-in ensure smooth
operation, for full, incremental or differential -- online or offline
-- backup and point-in-time recovery with redirect
possibility.--Latest tape technology support such as DLT VS-160 and
LTO-2.
