AG Group Releases AGNetTools 2.5!

WALNUT CREEK, California - April 4, 2000

AG Group, Inc. announces the release of a new, expanded version of
AGNetTools, their popular cross-platform shareware suite of IP diagnostic
tools. Version 2.5 represents a significant upgrade to the suite, currently
available for Windows 95/98/NT4.0/2K and Macintosh platforms.

Tens of thousands of AGNetTools licenses have been sold since it began
shipping in November of 1998, making it an extremely pervasive and
recognized toolset. Its wide appeal is due, in large part, to its straight
forward, graphical user interface, which sets it apart from similar
freeware, shareware and commercial products

"Many of our clients have installed DSL lines and are not sure about levels
of security. With AGNetTools, we can give them a system security profile
along with recommendations for shoring up potential holes, if necessary,"
says John Moon of Digital Builders. "This particular diagnostic tool, in
this day and age of half-baked applications, is very useful and well
thought out!"

AGNetTools v2.5 is comprised of the following utilities:

* Network IP Configuration
Shows IP configuration for a local machine, then sends the IPCONFIG
(Windows NT/2000) or WINIPCFG (Windows 95/98) to the default text viewer.

* Network Statistics
Shows routing information and other network details for the local IP
segment, then sends the results of the Windows NETSTAT command to the
default text viewer.

* ARP Cache Content
Shows any locally-cached results of ARP requests.

* Network Info
Provides network configuration information for the machine on which the
program is running.

* Internet Port Descriptions
Lists Internet port numbers and descriptions.

* PING
Times the response to echo request packets sent to a device of a known address.

* Ping Scan
Sends echo request packets to a range of IP addresses to determine which
are currently in use.

* Trace Route
Identifies the intervening steps (or hops) taken by a series of tests
packets on their way from your computer to any destination device with an
IP address.

* Name Lookup
Resolves names to IP addresses or IP addresses to names.

* Name Scan
Performs a Name Lookup for a range of IP addresses.

* DNS Lookup (NEW!)
Combines the functionality of the UNIX nslookup command with the
convenience of a graphical interface to retrieve information owned by
Domain Name Servers internetwide, including Name Servers (NS) Start of
Authority Zone (SOA), Host Information (HINFO), Alias Name (CNAME), Mail
Exchange (MX) and more.

* Port Scan
Scans a range of ports at a particular address to determine what services
are being offered.

* Service Scan
Scan a particular port across a range of addresses to see if a given
service is offered.

* Finger
Retrieves public information about a specified user on a specified host.

* Whois
Queries a specified WHOIS server for information about a particular host or
other internet entity.

* Throughput
Tests the rate at which information is downloaded from a specified FTP or
HTTP server.
